Four iOS 17 Feature Updates Coming in 2024

Apple still needs to deliver a few upgrades for iOS 17 before the release of iOS 18. The release date of these upgrades is still unknown, despite extensive discussion about them last year. According to Tech Times, Apple intends to improve two-factor authentication security as the first release for iOS. This function will be provided by biometric authentication systems like Touch ID and Face ID.

Using Apple Cash and Apple Card Savings, viewing virtual Apple Card numbers, utilizing payment methods in Safari, utilizing iCloud Keychain password access, and turnin off Lost Mode are some significant actions that will make use of this functionality.

The ability to sideload is another much awaited improvement. For security reasons, Apple has never permitted sideloading on devices supporting iOS since its first release. However, Apple will permit sideloading on its apps as a result of the Digital Markets Act of the European Union, allowing consumers to obtain software from websites or independent digital shops.

In the first part of this year, an iOS 17 update is expected to roll out with this capability. It is unknown at this time, though, if this feature will be used worldwide or just in European nations.

Additionally, Apple intends to include a Collaborative Playlist function to their music streaming service. All Apple Music subscribers will be able to add, rearrange, and remove songs from the same playlist as other users after this update. Roadside Assistance is the final update that Apple will roll out to iOS devices prior to the release of iOS 18.

This feature will allow customers in the US to get in touch with roadside assistance provider AAA without needing an internet connection.
